Team Evolution & Mentorship: Leading a growing squad of backend and frontend engineers, while coaching and mentoring individuals to reach their full potential.
Roadmap Partnership: Collaborating closely with Product Management to shape the team’s roadmap, ensuring the right balance between product milestones and engineering health.
Product Strategy: Moving beyond just execution by partnering with Product and Design to identify how AI can solve unique learning and coaching challenges. You will act as the technical voice in the room, shaping the feasibility and vision of our features.
Technical Ownership: Driving the design and implementation of complex application features. You will be responsible for the architectural choices that ensure our AI-powered learning tools remain intuitive, high-performing, and easy to maintain as we scale.
Architectural Complexity: Designing and architecting scalable solutions within a large-scale enterprise platform. You will ensure that as we introduce new AI-native learning features, the system remains modular, maintainable, and high-performing.
Priority Balancing: Navigating the tension between high-velocity feature delivery and the long-term health of the application. You will make the tough, high-level calls on when to iterate quickly and when to invest in structural improvements.
Workflow Efficiency: Identifying and removing roadblocks in the development lifecycle. You will lead by example to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team stays agile as we scale our feature set and our team size.
AI Product Innovation: You will own the development of AI-native products that change how revenue professionals work. You will transform complex data into actionable insights to help our global customer base master their skills and improve their performance.
Engineering and Architectural Excellence: You will define coding standards and ensure the architectural integrity of our application. You will lead the design of robust features that integrate AI capabilities into our user experience while maintaining long-term code quality and system performance.
Customer Empowerment: You will build tools that help people perform at their best. Your work will have a tangible, daily impact on how Gong users learn and grow within their organizations.
Cultural Leadership: You will build and grow a high-performing team. You will lead by example, scaling our talent and engineering processes to meet our company goals.
An experienced team leader ( 4+ years managing people ) with a hands-on approach.
A software development veteran with 10+ years of industry experience , focused on large-scale, cloud-based technologies.
Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (an advantage).
Experience with user-facing products and UI development (an advantage).
A degree in computer science or a related field (preferred).
Most importantly, a passion for motivating, mentoring, and developing team members .
