Senior Product Designer (Maternity Leave Cover) - Orca AI

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our design team for a maternity leave cover position (September–March), with a possibility of extension based on company needs.

This is an opportunity to join a global product company operating in the Maritime Tech industry and work on complex platforms used by fleet managers, safety teams, and customers worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end design processes, from problem definition and discovery through concept development, UX/UI design, and developer handoff.
• Work closely with Product Managers and R&D Teams
• Translate complex operational challenges into intuitive and effective user experiences.
• Participate in discovery processes, user research, and customer conversations.
• Design new features and improve existing products within complex SaaS platforms.
• Conduct design reviews and support implementation throughout the development lifecycle.

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer.
• Experience designing complex SaaS products.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end product design processes.
• Strong ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward.
• Experience collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.
• Systems-thinking mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Figma.

Nice to Have

• Experience with B2B products.
• Experience working on data-rich or operational systems.
• User research experience.
• Familiarity with AI tools as part of the design workflow. 
• Maritime background or familiarity with maritime operations, fleet management, navigation, or shipping-related workflows.
