We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong software engineering background to develop Classiq's quantum execution platform. Our execution layer runs quantum circuits and orchestrates hybrid quantum-classical algorithms across quantum hardware and simulators. You’ll build the infrastructure and abstractions that coordinate these workloads and make a rapidly evolving ecosystem of quantum computing systems, each with different capabilities, constraints, and interfaces, reliable, efficient, and usable at scale.

What you'll do

• Build systems that plan, orchestrate, and manage quantum workloads across multiple hardware providers, simulators, and cloud environments.
• Develop a deep understanding of quantum applications and backend capabilities to optimize execution performance and enable new execution capabilities.
• Maintain high standards of software quality, reliability, and engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Infrastructure, other core teams and quantum experts to deliver robust production software.

Who you are

• 8+ years of experience developing complex production software systems.
• B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience designing scalable backend systems, distributed systems, or workflow orchestration platforms.
• Strong architectural thinking and the ability to identify clean abstractions, reason about system tradeoffs, and turn complex technical requirements into maintainable software.
• Demonstrated ability to take complex, technical problems from exploration and design through implementation and production ownership.
• Passion for solving challenging problems at the intersection of software engineering and complex technical domains.
