xEngineer Team Lead (Backend Oriented) for Viewer - Wix

As a Team Lead at Viewer, you'll lead the development of the infrastructure that renders 250+ million Wix sites with the highest SLA and speed worldwide. You'll oversee the creation of one of the busiest Scala and Node.js services at Wix, handling over 1 million RPM. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring our Server Side Rendering (SSR) processes are efficient and scalable. 

In your day-to-day, you will: 

• Lead the team responsible for managing all of Wix’s public traffic (> 1 million RPM) 

• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship 

• Design, develop, and lead major features 

• Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits 

• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team 

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain extraordinary features 

• Solve challenging problems in complex business flows with creative solutions

We are Wix's Backend Engineering Guild. We provide integrated tools for microservice development within Wix to help improve developer productivity and best practices. These tools streamline the development process and reduce cognitive load, allowing Wix Engineers to concentrate on their domain, architecture, and business logic. To handle high-scale traffic (over 500B HTTP requests per day) and 500+ daily deployments, our team of 500 Backend Engineers runs production across 19 distributed data centers and cloud vendors worldwide.

• 2+ years of experience managing backend engineers 

• Proven expertise in designing scalable, distributed, and efficient systems 

• Passion for building high-quality software and ensuring production excellence 

• Excellent communication skills to support thousands of engineers and foster collaboration 

• Proactive attitude and eagerness to understand the "why" behind processes
