Assistant Controller – 6-Month Maternity Leave Cover - Upstream Security

Upstream delivers a cloud-based, AI-powered data management platform purpose-built for connected vehicles, smart mobility, and the IoT ecosystem. By leveraging mobility data, Upstream empowers customers with advanced, AI-driven applications across a variety of use cases, including proactive vehicle quality monitoring and detection, cybersecurity detection and response (XDR), misuse detection, usage-based insurance, and more.

We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Controller to join our Finance team for a six-month maternity leave cover.

In this role, you will take part in managing the day-to-day financial activities of several subsidiaries, including accounting, payroll, monthly and annual closing processes, financial reporting, and other ongoing finance activities.

You will report to the Director of Finance and work closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax advisors.

This is a full-time, Israel-based.

• Manage day-to-day financial activities across Upstream’s subsidiaries.
• Manage and oversee payroll processes for several subsidiaries.
• Take an active role in monthly and annual closing processes in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee and review bookkeeping activities to ensure accurate and compliant financial records.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and cross-functional teams.
• Support various ad-hoc financial projects and ongoing Finance team needs.

• CPA – required.
• Experience from one of the “Big 4” accounting firms or a leading supporting high-tech and startup companies is required.
• Relevant hands-on experience in accounting, controllership, or finance.
• Experience working with high-tech or startup companies – an advantage.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with NetSuite – an advantage.
• Excellent English, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their application in finance processes – an advantage.
• Good understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting processes.
• Experience working in an international or multi-subsidiary environment – an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of integrity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
