R&D Team Leader - Paragon

We are looking for an experienced Low-Level Research & Development Team Lead to lead a team working at the intersection of deep technical research and production-grade software development.

In this role, you will lead complex low-level research efforts, guide engineers through challenging technical problems, and help turn unique research findings into reliable capabilities integrated into Paragon's core product. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, research direction, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

We are looking for a technically strong and hands-on leader who enjoys solving complex problems, researching operating systems and application internals, and building world-unique solutions in a fast, end-to-end environment.

• Lead and mentor a team of low-level researchers and developers, providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
• Define research and development priorities, identify new investigation areas, and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.
• Drive complex low-level research, reverse engineering, and development efforts across operating systems, applications, and technologies.
• Research native OS and application behavior, internal mechanisms, and system-level technologies.
• Design and implement production-grade systems in languages such as Go, Rust, C/C++, and Python, integrating research capabilities into Paragon's core product.
• Serve as a technical focal point for challenging research and development problems, helping the team overcome obstacles and reach effective solutions.
• Guide the team in developing reliable, maintainable, and production-ready solutions from initial research through implementation and integration.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, translating research findings and technical discoveries into actionable product capabilities.
• Promote high technical standards, research excellence, and a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, operating systems, application architectures, and relevant research areas to maintain the team's technical edge.

• 4+ years of experience in low-level software development, research, reverse engineering, security research, or a similar technical role.
• 2+ years of experience managing a technical team, while leading projects and mentoring engineers.
• Strong hands-on experience with one or more low-level programming languages: C/C++, Rust, Go.
• Proven experience in reverse engineering and analyzing complex software.
• Hands-on experience with reverse engineering and instrumentation tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JEB, Frida, or similar.
• Deep understanding of operating system internals and system-level mechanisms, particularly Unix-like operating systems.
• Proven ability to research unfamiliar technologies and independently investigate complex technical problems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead technical investigations from research through implementation.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining production-grade software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to learn quickly, independently, and continuously adapt to new technologies and technical domains.
