Solve some of the team’s toughest technical problems and build solutions that hold up as the product grows. Partner with product managers, architects, and other engineers on technical approach and planning, contributing perspectives that can extend beyond your immediate area when it’s useful. Act as a go-to technical resource for complex design and architecture questions, helping ensure solutions hold up against business needs, compliance standards, and long-term maintainability. Take ownership of the most complex technical issues that come up in your systems, driving root cause analysis and fixes that hold up over time. Mentor other engineers through code review, design discussions, and everyday guidance, helping raise the technical bar around you. Bring a high bar to your own code and design work, and help others do the same through thoughtful review and knowledge sharing. Take deep ownership of significant, technically demanding components, and help evolve core infrastructure so it stays reliable and scalable as the product grows. Work with a high degree of independence on complex technical initiatives - some of which may touch multiple systems or teams - from design through delivery. Help shape automation, testing, and deployment practices that raise the bar for reliability and velocity. Own complex projects from design through delivery, and contribute meaningfully to the thinking behind them - including, at times, decisions that touch the product itself, not just the implementation. BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution, or an exceptional track record in server-side development with advanced technical expertise. 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a demonstrated ability to take on complex, ambiguous problems independently and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes. Deep expertise in one or more programming languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, Go, Python, with an ability to adapt to new technologies as needed. Extensive experience building highly scalable, distributed systems, with a strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-native development. Demonstrated success designing and deploying services at scale on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong technical judgment, with experience mentoring other engineers and weighing in on decisions that shape the product’s direction. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver reliably under tight deadlines.
