Senior Hybrid DBA - ARAD GROUP

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Data team.

If you are passionate about performance tuning, experienced in building and managing mission-critical environments in Azure, and comfortable diving deep into Big Data environments on GCP, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will serve as a key technical authority responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing reliability of our database infrastructure, working in a complex and challenging multi-cloud environment.

What You’ll Do

• SQL Server Administration: Take end-to-end ownership of production environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex database issues.
• Performance & Optimization: Perform in-depth monitoring, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, and improve indexing strategies and overall database performance.
• Cloud Infrastructure – Azure: Manage cloud-based database environments, including Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance, and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Modern Data Warehousing: Work with Google Cloud BigQuery, focusing on cost optimization, access and permissions management, and improving query performance across large-scale datasets.
• Automation: Develop scripts using PowerShell, Python, and T-SQL to automate infrastructure tasks, database maintenance, and operational processes.

• 5+ years of experience as an Application DBA, with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server – required. Infrastructure DBA experience is an advantage.
• Azure expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services – required.
• GCP BigQuery experience: Hands-on experience with Big Data and/or Data Warehouse environments on Google Cloud Platform – a significant advantage.
• Independent and proactive mindset: Strong ability to work independently, take ownership, solve complex problems, and quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
